I have personal beef with the PJO community because they revolve around a book about Greek mythology and almost not a sould can read Greek! This is a disgrace to the Greek nation!!!1!
According to my professional sources (Google, but without the AI bits), Rick Riordian can speak Italian. In the books, there are 2 Italian characters, so either he just really likes Italy (holy ragebait) or he's Italian himself. Now listen, I don't blame a guy for learning his family language; if anything, I'd encourage it, so he's excused here. He also knows Spanish and French, but everyone learns those languages in school anyways. Apparently, he lives in Boston, MA, which means that he doesn't live in Ireland. If that's the case, WHY DOES HE KNOW IRISH???? HOW COME HE DIDN'T LEARN ANY VARIETY OF GREEK BEFORE IRISH OF ALL LANGUAGES??
